In loving memory of Shirley Lehto (nee Hennigar)(Ouellette), 80 years, who passed away Saturday, March 7th, 2026 at Health Sciences North. Beloved wife of Jean-Claude Ouellette (predeceased 1975) and Robert Lehto (predeceased 2014). Loving mother of Rose Dougan (Tim), Sue Lammi (Don Therrien), and Joanne Lehto (Robert Jr.). Cherished Grandma of Anna Zembrzycki (Andrew), Angela Romanyszyn (Chris), Paige Dougan, Lauren Dougan, Courtney Lehto (Theo Villeneuve), and great-grandchildren Mischa, Amileah, Beckett, Haisley, Jace, and Landon. Dear daughter of Vital and Lydia (nee Connors) Hennigar, both predeceased. Dear sister of Elizabeth Hennigar, Betty Hennigar, Lee Theriault, and predeceased by Dorothy Weedon, Frances Carrier, Donald Hennigar, and Billy Hennigar. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Shirley will be sorely missed by her dearest friend Bonnie Vezina.
Shirley was free spirited, and loved spending time with her family, especially her precious grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing, being at her camp in Westree, playing darts, and knitting – especially her famous Christmas socks. Shirley’s legacy will live on in her beloved collection of elephants.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18th, 2026 from 7pm-9pm at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd., Sudbury. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
