It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the death of Diane Zinkie (nee Doherty), 81 years at Health Sciences North on Thursday, October 25, 2018. Diane was the daughter of the late Tom and Jean Doherty. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Zinkie. Loving mother of Kerri Lynn Paterson (Ian) and the late Stephen Zinkie (Sara). Proud grandmother of Ryleigh, Ellen and Andrew. Dear sister of Shirley Greenfield (Norm) (predeceased), William “Bill” (predeceased) (Wendy Gay), Morley (Joan), Rick (Janet), Brian (Cathy), Wayne (Carol), Susan (Lindsay) and Karen. She will be sadly missed by all her family as well as by many nieces and nephews. Diane worked for the TD Bank and later in the Art Department of the Rainbow School Board. She was a long time Member of The Order of The Eastern Star Algoma Chapter No. 139 District 16 and a volunteer with the Cancer Society. Special thank you to her loving sister Susan, and sisters-in-law Janet and Gay, for overseeing Diane’s care over the years. There will be a memorial service held in the Spring at the Parklawn Cemetery with a reception to follow. The family would appreciate that donations can be made in her memory directly to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
My deepest condolences to Kerri Lynn and her family. Diane was a big part of my childhood and was a wonderful lady. I will always remember her joyous laugh.
