Young, Robert (March 14, 1934 – July 22, 2018)

Predeceased by my parents Andrew and Lillian Young (Lockett), my brother Fred, my son Andrew Bryon and my beloved wife Fabi (Pilon). Born in Cochrane Ontario and spent early childhood in Timmins. I began my working career in the Lead-Zinc mine in western Quebec at age 16, then moved on to the mine in Chelmsford, Ontario. When it closed I worked at several of the uranium mines in Elliot Lake before joining Falconbridge in 1960 as a mechanic. In 1982 I was promoted to Mechanical Superintendent for their four mines and mill in the Onaping area. I retired in 1991 to the home Fabi and I built near Chelmsford. We travelled for a while visiting friends and relatives until Fabi passed away on September 26th ,2011.

I Leave behind my two daughters, Lynn Collins, husband Barry and their two daughters, Mickaela and Kinsey, and Louise Young, husband Bill MacKay and her two sons Clayton (Ashley) and Jesse. I also enjoyed the friendship of Fabi’s two brothers, Emile (Emily) and Omer (Gail). The other two who became close friends were Lucien and Claudette Rheault whom I enjoyed visiting on a regular basis.

Lastly, I wish to thank nurses Jo-Anne O’Leary and Doris Sauve who looked after my medical needs after five operations on my leg were unsuccessful. The nursing profession is very fortunate to have persons of their caliber as a standard for others to aim for. I have been quite fortunate in having two very caring and compassionate daughters that made these last few years bearable. I have had a very good life and enjoyed the comradery of many friends and relatives and thank you all for a very good life.

I leave now to find my Fabi and spend eternity with her!
