Wiman, June (Nee Riggs)

It is with much sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our Mother, June Grace Wiman (nee Riggs) "June Bug" who passed away at Extendicare York on Thursday, October 15, 2020.  Beloved wife of over 70 years to Ross Henry "Roscoe" Wiman.  Loving Mother to Glenn Wiman (Mary Lou), Julie Davlut (Jeff) and Janice Rannelli (Steve LePage).  Cherished Grandmother to Melissa, Vanessa, Julieanne (Chris Miville) Roxanne, Pia (Spencer Mitchell) Step Grandma to Kristin and Dustin.  Great Grandmother to Jake, Josie (predeceased) Aubrey and Charlie. Born in Toronto, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Riggs and Marjorie (nee Brown) Riggs Roberts, Stepfather Bob Roberts. Dearly beloved Sister to Marney Wynne (Fred) both predeceased.  Sister-in-law of June Roe (Bob) both predeceased, Barbara Wieczorek (Steve- predeceased), Gordon (predeceased) Bruce (Carole), John (Barbara-predeceased).  She will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.  June had that extra special something, a sparkle in her eye, the most giving, kind, gentle and the most extraordinary, beautiful and proud lady.  An amazing Mother and Homemaker she was to Ross and her children.  She loved her bling.  Her handwritten letters and cards were always adorned by her stickers and drawings.  June Bug the Shutter Bug loved taking pictures every time she was with any of us.  She loved nature, all animals, insects, she often saved them in the pool.  Her favorite saying was "Somewhere over the Rainbow" where she is now.   The family would like to thank the 3rd floor Staff at Extendicare York for their amazing care.  A celebration of life will take place in the Spring of 2021.  Donations to the Alzheimer's Society, Butterfly Wings Bereavement and Pet Rescue of your choice would be appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted with Ranger’s Cremation and Burial Services Ltd.  Online condolences can be posted at www.rangerssudbury.com.

  1. Julie, what a wonderful life your mom has lived. While we never met her, it is clear that she had such a special impact on those fortunate enough to have been a family member, friend, or even an insect!! I (Alan) told Jeff that if my obituary contained just 1% of the beautiful thoughts and memories people have of your mom, I would be thrilled. We are so very sorry for your loss and hope that the love and support of family and friends is of some comfort for you.

    With our deepest condolences,

    Alan and Gayle

  2. So sorry for your loss Julie Janice Glenn and family. Auntie June was a beautiful person who truly loved life. She was the kindest most gentle person I have ever know. Never a bad word against anyone she truly saw only the best in everyone. Will always remember those fun times at our Stoney Lake Regattas. Her dancing, swimming and maybe even a drink or two keeping up with and outdoing the younger generation! 🥰🥰🥰
