Wiman Jr., Ross Henry (Roscoe) (Sonny)

In Loving Memory of Ross Henry Wiman Jr., 89 years who passed away peacefully at Extendicare York on Wednesday, February 27, 2019. Beloved husband and “Rock of Gibraltar” of over 68 years to June Grace (née Riggs) Wiman. Loving father of Glenn Wiman (Mary Lou), Julie Davlut (Jeff) and Janice Rannelli (Steve LePage). Cherished grandfather of Melissa, Vanessa, Julieanne (Chris), Roxanne, Pia (Spencer), Kristin, Dustin and great grandfather of Jake, Josie (predeceased), Aubrey and Charlie. Born in Toronto, he was the son of the late Ross Sr. and May (née Burt) Wiman. Dearly loved brother of June Roe (Bob) both predeceased, Barbara Wieczorek (Steve predeceased), Gordon (predeceased), Bruce (Carole), John (Barbara) and brother-in-law of Marney Wynne (Fred) both predeceased. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, family members and dear friends. Ross was a very well known and respected Merchandising Sales Rep. for the food and liquor industry whose career spanned over 65 years. He leaves behind a tremendous legacy of one who was a dedicated and hardworking provider for his family. In his earlier years he was a very proud and active member of the A.C.T. Ross did consider Manitoulin Island their second home as the family would spend as much time as possible at the cottage in Gore Bay. Many great family memories were created through the many visits to Marney and Fred’s cottage in Parry Sound and at the Birchmuir Lodge on Stoney Lake. The family would especially like to thank the staff on the 3rd floor at Extendicare York for their care provided to Ross during his stay. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. In keeping with his request there will be no visitation or service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory can be made directly to the Alzheimer Society or the Northern Cancer Foundation.
