Valentino,Ray

It is with great sadness, the sudden passing of Ray Valentino on Thursday, March 7th, 2019, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family at the age of 82. Ray is survived by his wife Barbara (Moretto), married for 62 years, and his daughter Carol and sons Barry (Claire), Nino (Diane) and Darren (Brenda). Ray was a loving husband and father as well as a devoted grandfather to Kayla Childs (Matthew), Marissa, Kylie, Sara, Kortney, and great-grandfather to his precious little Madison. Ray was born in Sudbury, Ontario on June 4th, 1936, one of 6 children to Alphonse and Veronica. He was a proud employee of INCO (Frood/Stobie) until he retired in 1991. Ray was always an involved parent as a manager and coach to a variety of sports teams for all of his children and he lived his life ensuring his family was always first. He enjoyed golfing, casino trips being an active member of the morning Pensioners coffee club, and taking his furry friend ‘Trapper’ on long walks. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service to celebrate Ray’s life, to be held on Wednesday, March 13th 2019, 10:00 a.m., at Holy Redeemer Church, 1887 Bancroft Dr. Sudbury, Ontario. Refreshments at the church hall will follow mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ray’s memory to the Lung Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Sudbury. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ranger’s Cremation and Burial Services Ltd. Online condolences can be posted at www.rangerssudbury.com
