Vaillancourt, Jeannette

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Jeannette Vaillancourt (nee Tremblay) on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at St. Gabriel’s Villa at the age of 83 years. Loving mother of Lynne (Brad), Danny, and Chris. Adored grandmother of AJ and Rebecca. Beloved sister of Ray (wife Lillian), Gerald (predeceased) (wife Aline) and Andre (predeceased). Born on July 26, 1937 in Ottawa, ON she was the daughter of the late Anatole and Beatrice (nee Bellefeuille) Tremblay. Growing up in Ottawa, Jeannette moved to Sudbury in 1963 after she was married. Having spent a short time in the city, she moved to Little Current and then relocated back to Sudbury a few years later in the Minnow Lake area. She was a wife, mother of three, grandmother and a devout Catholic who was a proud member of the C.W.L. with Holy Redeemer Church, as well as a member of the Sudbury Lioness Club. Her family was her main focus, as they’re forever blessed with the many cherished memories of the great hot lunches they enjoyed together as kids, watching movies on TVO, Saturday evenings; helping make Christmas meat pies; planting flowers and vegetables in the garden, and the crazy antics they went through in giving their dog Tippy a bath. As someone who could appreciate the outdoors, she gathered on many family camping trips with their tent trailer in campgrounds across Ontario. As a doting grandmother she very grateful and honored to be able to hold each of her grandchildren in her arms for the first time after they were born. Her daughter Lynne will cherish the memories of her first Mother’s Day with Jeannette after her son AJ was born; watching them doing jigsaw puzzles and teaching him what word searches were … and so many others. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at St. Gabriel’s Villa and Circle of Care for all the wonderful care that was provided for mom during her stay. A service will be arranged later in the Spring, due to the current Covid restrictions. Arrangements have been entrusted with Ranger’s Cremation and Burial Services Ltd.
