Vaillancourt, Hélène

With heavy hearts, the family announces her peaceful passing at Health Sciences North on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, surrounded by her family. Predeceased by the love of her life Ronald Sr. “Prof” Vaillancourt in 2013. Cherished daughter of the late Charles Édouard and Marie-Aline (née Déquanne) Brosseau. Hélène leaves behind her loving children, Diane Rabouin (Martin) and Ronald Jr. “Bucko” Vaillancourt (Thérèse). An adored “Moma” to Mélanie Chartrand, André Rabouin (Nicole Kornyk), Riley Coleman, Robin Coleman (Julia) and the light of her life, her little prince Matéo Chartrand. Dear sister to Lionel Brosseau (predeceased 2018) (Gisèle), Pauline Vaillancourt (predeceased 2009) (Roma), Pierrette Duval (Raymond), Normand Brosseau (predeceased 1949), Agathe Trottier (Léo-Paul Sr.), Mona St-Onge (Cléo), and Nicole Daoust (Claude). She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and their families: Ghislaine, Normand, Gilles, Nicole, Yvon, Chantal, Léo-Paul Jr. “Loap”, Ginette “La Girl”, Nathalie, Danny, Joël and Éric. Hélène was very passionate about her family, friends and family traditions. She was an amazing elementary school teacher for 37 years, touching the lives of all who walked through her classroom. She loved camping at Richard Lake Campground where she surrounded herself with family and friends. She was the rock that kept everyone together. The family would like to express their appreciation to the ICU staff at Health Sciences North for their kind and compassionate care. As per her wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

  1. Mom. I miss you with all my heart! You were a loving sister, a dotting mother, the best “moma” to your grand children, an adoring great grandmother, an amazing wife for over 50 years,… but most of all my very best friend! Even with all of these responsibilities you were one of the best elementary school teachers for more than 37 years… you left footsteps on all the hearts of your children in the world! Anyone who knew you, felt your helping hand and your so kind heart!!! As this was your only wish, I truly hope he was there waiting for you with open arms… you are finally together again. I can see the both of you smiling down in all of us! I kept a voice mail you left me, just to hear you voice when I need your strength! Love you mom…
