Urban, Huguette “Yogi”

It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Huguette "Yogi" Urban at the age of 77 on Friday, September 7, 2018, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Daughter of the late Leo and Alice Fournier, Yogi leaves behind to mourn her loving husband, soul mate and best friend of 55 years, Milan "Mike" Urban. Also left to mourn her passing is her loving son Jason Urban who will miss her love, guidance and unique brand of "tough love." She will be forever remembered by her daughter-in-law Linda Urban who became closer to her than any daughter could have. Linda stood by her side and worked tirelessly to make sure Yogi was comfortable and her every need was met until the very end. Yogi will also be missed by her grandchild Jordan Urban, step-granddaughter Jessica Drouin and step-great-grandson Hyde Perez. She had a very close and special relationship with her nieces and nephews, Jenny, Jeff, Lucas and Brittany whom she thought of and treated as her own. Yogi leaves behind her siblings Lise Gervis (Jim predeceased), Robert Fournier (Julie) and Marc Fournier. She was predeceased by her brother Gus Fournier (Marion), sister Colette Lempke as well as her sister Monique Luetge (Joe). Yogi had a special place in her heart for her "grand-puppies" Jaylin and Cooper, as well as many other nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. Yogi was a dedicated employee of Helvi's Flowers for over 30 years where she touched the hearts of her coworkers as well as many of her customers. She also had many hobbies including blueberry picking, yard sailing as well as being an avid reader. An exceptional cook who always made sure that anybody who walked through her door was met with a smile and a hearty homemade meal.

Dear Yogi:

"A gold heart stopped beating
Hard working hands at rest,
It broke our hearts to see you go,
God only takes the best.

They say that memories are golden,
Well maybe that is true,
But we never wanted memories,
We only wanted YOU.

Your life was love and labour,
Your love for your family true.
You did your best for all of us,
We will always remember you.

We sat beside your bedside,
Our hearts heavy and sore.
We did our duty until the end,
Until we could do no more.

In tears we watched you sinking,
We watched you fade away,
And though our hearts were breaking,
We knew you could not stay.

Our lips cannot speak how much we all loved you.
There are no words left to say,
But God knows how much we'll miss you,
Until we meet again someday."

In keeping with Yogi's final wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made directly to the Northeast Cancer Centre.

  3. Mike, Jason Linda and family,
Never made it to the house but last time I spoke she thanked me for being a friend. She was always so open about how she was doing but never complained about it. She sure gave it a great fight. We have had you all in my prayers.
