Turcotte, Gerald “JEFF”

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeff Turcotte of Wahnapitae. He was born in Gogama on September 21st, 1941 to the late Philip and Janet (nee Valliquette) Turcotte. He was predeceased by his brothers Douglas and Edward Turcotte, by his sister Sally and her husband Claude Primeau. He was also predeceased by his brothers-in-law Hector Goulard, Gérald Chartier and nephew Rhéal Goulard. He leaves behind his beloved wife of over 51 years Jeannine (nee Chartier) and his four legged pal Cookie. He was the loving father of Janet (Scott) Carleton and Mark (Sarah Gardiner) Turcotte. Adored Grampa of Philip and Brady Carleton, Kaitlyn Hinds, Tayler Turcotte and Fiona Dawe. He was the Great-Grampa of Landon and Hayden. He will be sadly missed by his siblings Harry (June) Turcotte, Sandra (Greg, predeceased) Ransom, Phyllis (Ron) Morin as well by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Monsieur Jeff will also be missed by the family he and Jeannine took into their home and their hearts Brian, Tammy, Krystal and Ashley Rancourt. He was a proud, hardworking family man who was loved and well respected by all who knew him especially by his peers at UA Local 800, Union of Plumbers, Pipefitters and Welders. He was very proud of his daughter Janet for her academic and life achievements as a Dental Hygienist and his son Mark’s exemplary military service. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the nursing staff, PSW’s and Doctors on the 5th floor South Tower at Health Sciences North for the wonderful care they provided for Jeff. A Funeral Mass will be held at Notre Dame de la Rivière Church, 60 Hill Street, Wahnapitae on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of Jeff’s Life will follow immediately afterwards at the Colonial Inn, 28 Cedar Street, Coniston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made directly to the Northeastern Cancer Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
