Therrien, Jean-Marc – “Ti-Boy”

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Jean-Marc Therrien, 72 years, on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Health Sciences North. Beloved husband and best friend to Maria “Chi-Chi” Therrien (née Lafromboise). Forever loved by his son Mark. Sadly missed by his grandchildren; Cody, Hunter, Austin and Madison. He will be fondly remembered by his siblings Pauline (predeceased) (Normand), James, Bruce (Debbie), Tina (Brian), Paul (Natasha), Andrew, Timothy (Charlene) and Dale (Maryse). Born on January 26, 1947 in Mattawa, he was the son of the late Albert and Jeannette (née Lefebvre) Therrien and is survived by his step-mother Mary. He will be sadly missed by his extended family members Bonnie (Paul-predeceased), Rachelle, Ronald (Candy), Susie (Gasper), Monique (Chris-predeceased), Ron, Dan, Diane, Larry as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Jean-Marc worked in his younger years doing mechanical work at I.N.C.O then retired from the Greater City of Sudbury, he was a very proud and dedicated Volunteer Firefighter in Valley East. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, or as he would call it “drowning minnows”. Jean-Marc considered both Sudbury and Manitoulin Island his home as he would spend many days at Stanley Park on Lake Mindemoya and at his cousin Ron’s camp where he always felt welcome. He shared many funny and memorable moments with his close friends and family restoring “the bus” into a camper for all to enjoy. The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness and support especially close friends Annette and Roger Barriault, cousins Ron, Dan, Diane and Larry. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Paroisse St Jacques, 46 Cote Blvd, Hanmer on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life will be announced following the mass. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
