Tall, Joyce “Tommie” (nee Stoddard)

In Loving Memory of Joyce “Tommie” Tall, 83 years who passed away peacefully on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Maison Vale Hospice with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Martti Tall. Loving mother of Wendy Beauchamp (Bernie), Heather Farnel (Dan), Jane Tall (Pete Buffett), Tim Tall (Max) and Mardy Robert (James Cummings). Cherished grandmother of Wesley, Sarah, Evan, Nathan, Travis, Karleigh, Jordan, Haley, and step grandmother of Johnathan, Brandi, Kelsey and Shelby. Doting great-grandmother of Lizwe, Thandie, Abigail and Sadie. She was predeceased by her siblings Gloria Dubblestyne and Myrna Crossley. Born in Lower Ship Harbour, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Murray and Anna (Monk) Stoddard. Tommie began working for the town of Nickel Centre in May of 1973 and retired after 20 years of dedicated service in October of 1993. She was always there to lend an ear to anyone in need. A friend to all who knew her, young and old alike, a pillar of strength and encouragement to family and friends. She enjoyed spending many a weekend at her own little piece of paradise, on Lake Wahnapitae. There she could be found relaxing and listening to her music, especially her favourite song “Green Green Grass of Home”. Joyce instilled great values in her children. She was an angel on earth with her compassion and caring ways, always putting others before herself. She will be surely missed by all who knew and loved her. Special thank you to Claire Warren, Dr. Tenhunen and the support staff for their care and compassion. In keeping with Joyce’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. Donations in Tommie’s memory can be made to The Lung Association.

“Miss Me – But Let Me Go”

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free!

Miss me a little, but not too long
And not with your head bowed low,
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me, but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take
And each must go alone;
It’s all part of the Master’s Plan
A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds
Miss me, but let me go.
