Sweezey, Lyle “Bucky”

In loving memory of Lyle Sweezey who passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the age of 82. Beloved husband and soul mate for 44 years to Bernice (nee Pratz) Sweezey. Dear father of Valerie (Tom) Trudeau of Azilda, Robert (Lo) Sweezey, Laurie (Max) Brault, Derek Sweezey all of Ottawa, Michael Sweezey of Simcoe, ON and Paula Sweezey of Surrey B.C. Cherished grandfather of nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Mina (Carl) Smith and Frederic (Lill) Sweezey as well as his sister Jackie (Bee) Labatte. Sadly missed by his nephew, cousins, brothers and sisters -in- law and friends. Lyle worked for 24 years in purchasing/warehousing at C-I-L / INCO / VALE before retiring in 1984. He enjoyed the sun, the outdoors, BBQ’s, fishing and his bi-weekly coffee meetings with his C-I-L buddies Bob, Bill, Barry and Elmer as well as spending time with his family. A special thank you to the staff at Health Sciences North 7th floor N. and I.C.U. as well as Dr. Yannick Charette for his dedicated care, patience and advice, we are most grateful. At Lyle’s request, there will be no visitation or service.

    My sincere condolences Bernice and to your family.
    I have fond memories of you and Lyle, when visited your place in 1990, with dearest Ron. It was a beautiful site sitting on bench in back yard.
    The good friendship and wonderful tasks you both did for this elderly lady upstairs in my apt. building. A friend of your mom, Bernice.
    You made such an excellent pair as sharing the journey in your lives. He will surely be missed by many. Take care my dear–Luvyah

  7. We are saddened to hear of Lyle’s passing. You were both great neighbors for the last 44 yrs. There will be a void on Poplar St not seeing you and Lyle walking. Bernice our prayers are with the family at this time. Lyle had some precious time with his children during the past few weeks. He will be missed by our family as Mr. Sweezey/Lyle as he wanted to be called by our children. Thanks for your friendship Lyle .R.I.P.
