Stasiuk, John “Mooner”

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of John “Mooner” Stasiuk at the age of 70, on November 21st, 2023. Beloved husband of Linda Stasiuk. Loving father Kristy Earl (Scott).  Proud grandfather of Tianna Earl and Logan Earl.  Born to Alex and Paraska (predeceased) on August 27th, 1953.  Cherished brother of Bill Stasiuk (Debbie) and Alex Stasiuk (Linda).  He will be greatly missed by his adoptive daughter Donna “bigfoot” Millet (Lindsay) and by many brother and sister-and-laws, nieces, nephews, and grand-dogs/cat.

John was a proud Donovan boy who was well known and loved by many in his community.  In the early years, John was a bartender at the Frood hotel and the International.  In most recent years, he retired from Metro where he’ll be missed by his work family and customers.  In his down time, he enjoyed gardening in his back yard, watching his grand dog Malcom chase the chipmunks and squirrels. He has a passion for fishing and was known for catching big ones, alongside his grandson Logan and son-in-law Scott.  He was also known to be an avid “neighborhood watch” perched on his front deck with a scratch ticket, a cold one and his grand dog Hudson at his side. Sports were a big part of what brought him joy.  Specifically, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Las Vegas Raiders. John will be remembered for the proud Ukrainian man that he was.  We have no doubt he was greeted at the gates by three wagging tails: Sheba, Shadow and Muffy.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 9th, 2023 at the Croatian Center, 571 Kathleen Street from 1pm-4pm.
