St. Martin, Edgar Albert (75)

Edgar passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2023, surrounded by loving family by his side, at St Gabriel's Villa, Sudbury, after suffering from a long illness. Predeceased by his loving partner, Angele Piro. Loving father of John St. Martin (Lora Grande), and Chantal St. Martin. Fondly remembered by the mother of his children, Lilliane Dignard (née Dufresne). Cherished grandfather of Sarah Collie, Kaitlin Schneider, Laura Collie, and Alysha Schneider. Beloved son of the late Germain St. Martin and Yvonne (née Beaulieu) (St. Martin) Chiasson. Dear brother of Raymond St. Martin (predeceased), Claire Pellatt (Earl), Armand St. Martin (Sharon), Suzanne Godin (Tony predeceased), Denis St. Martin (Janet), and Andy St. Martin. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Born in Sudbury, Edgar had moved his young family to British Columbia, where he worked as a hard rock miner, until his retirement. An avid outdoorsman, who loved nature, spending much of his time hunting, fishing and camping. He also loved to participate in, and watch sports, including golf, hockey, curling, and baseball. He returned to Sudbury after his retirement, where he spent many happy years, telling jokes and laughing with family, living his life to the fullest, and enjoying his love of casinos. Special thanks to the staff at St. Gabriel's Villa and Dr. Susan Lane for their support and care provided to Edgar over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations in Edgar’s memory can be made directly to the Alzheimer’s Society will be greatly appreciated. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St-Jean-de-Brébeuf Church, 26 Kathleen St., Sudbury, on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a reception in the Church Hall. Relatives and friends are welcome to gather at the Church after 10:15 a.m.
