Born in 1943 in Manchester, England, Geoffrey died peacefully with his loving family by his side at Health Sciences North, Sudbury, ON following complications of Heart Disease on Friday, July 21, 2017. Brother of June (predeceased), Mary, Pauline (predeceased), Fred and Beryl “Beth”. Beloved husband of Karen Joy (Hamalainen). Dear father to Kristy Joy and Matthew. Geoffrey was a health care provider who devoted a lifetime to caring for the sick regardless of their station in life. He was a Health Care Coordinator with the Ministry of Correctional Services, retiring in 2005. He will be remembered as a kind and caring Health Care Professional who was regarded as a “people person”. One of the founders of the Sudbury Hospitals Bowling League which featured staff from the Sanitorium, General, Memorial and St. Joseph’s Hospitals. He was an animal lover who cared for many cats, dogs and other animals. In keeping with Geoffrey’s wishes there will be no visitation or services.
