Rodney passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 22, 2020 after a long battle with cancer. Loving brother to Robin (Hubert) Kump. Predeceased by his mother Mary Jane Smith (2019). Rodney spent the majority of his life doing what he loved, cooking. Anyone who had been lucky enough to eat a meal prepared by Rodney, could easily tell it was his passion. His many years of service at Gonga’s Grill will never be forgotten and the tight knit work family that developed during that time will miss him greatly. If Rodney wasn’t at work, he could more then likely be found solving all of the world’s problems at an event he liked to call “Thirsty Thursday”. This was a gathering that brought together his closest friends and created memories that will last a lifetime. Rodney also loved watching sports and CNN. He will be missed by many. A special thanks to his dear friends, especially Roxanne and her husband Dan for always being there for him. Also a big thank you to the Doctors and Nurses who cared for Rodney at Health Sciences North. In keeping with Rodney’s wishes, there will be no service or visitation, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
