It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Smagac on Monday, February 12, 2018 at the age of 94 at Pioneer Manor. She was predeceased by her parents John and Anne Smagac and by her siblings Rose Ariano, Joseph, John, Walter Frank, and Francis Collison. She is survived by her sister-in-law Glorianne Smagac (Walter Frank) and by generations of nieces and nephews. Jean was born on August 17, 1923 in Capreol. She was an active person who was deeply involved in a community she was proud of. She was a volunteer with the Capreol Club 240, a member of both Daughters' of Isabella and Catholic Women's League. She was a devoted parishioner at Our Lady of Peace Church. She spent her last years comfortably at Pioneer Manor where she received excellent care by loving staff. Her family and friends will always remember her great sense of humour, her kindness, and her smile that could light up a room. Memorial Mass at Our Lady of Peace Church, 26 Dennie Street, Capreol on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11am.
