SKOGBERG, Lasse Elis Edvard

Lasse was called to life eternal on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Finlandia Village at the age of 72. Husband of 47 years to Kristiina and father to Stefan. He was born in Tampere, Finland on June 10, 1946 to Irma and Elis Skogberg (predeceased) and is survived by his brother Juhani (Liisa). Lasse loved spending time at his camp on Tyson Lake with family and friends. Many appreciated his gentle easy-going nature and dry humour. He always looked forward to his Wednesday Men’s Club meetings, working in the thrift shop at Finlandiakoti, and hockey nights with his friend Paavo. At Lasse’s request, there will be no visitation. A private funeral will take place in the coming days, followed by a memorial gathering at Finlandia Village at a later date. A special thank you to Dr. Bakker at Finlandia, Dr. de Blacam and the staff of 4 North at HSN, and all of the staff at Finlandia (nursing home and supportive housing) for their dedication, care, and compassion during Lasse’s final days. Donations to the Finlandia Cultural Fund, Northern Cancer Foundation (Sudbury), or a charity of choice would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Ranger's Cremation and Burial Services Ltd.
