Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Health Sciences North at the age of 67. Loving son of the late Donald and Irene Simmons. Beloved father of Stacey, Darryl (Isabelle) and Bradley. Cherished grandfather of Taylor, Amber and Cali-Ann Simmons. Brother of Allan and Ellaine. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins extended relatives and friends. Douglas was a great piano player and enjoyed playing at different restaurants around Sudbury. As per his wishes there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life and Interment will be held at a later date.
We had good times being together in Capreol in our youth, in the summer; watching and listening to you play fantastic piano whether at our home or yours; watching the rock band in a Yorkville coffee house on Saturday nights; skipping a few years until we met again in Barrie, ON. It has been a year since we had our last chat. Be at peace cousin.

So sorry to learn of Dougie’s passing. He is fondly remembered as part of our family back in Montreal in 64-65.
