Shirley “Joan” Hamilton (nee Stoddart)

In loving memory of Shirley “Joan” Hamilton (nee Stoddart) who passed away peacefully at Pioneer Manor on Wednesday, October 23rd at the age of 89.  Born in Sudbury to the late Earl and Vera Stoddart.  Loving wife of Patrick Hamilton (predeceased).  Beloved mother of Sharon (Jim), Peter and Ann.  Special Auntie Joan to Betty and Patsy.  Dedicated and devoted grandmother (aka Nanny) to Angela (Jamie), Stephanie (Rick), Amanda (Ryan), Erin (Sarah), Peter Jr. and Bobbi-Jo.  She will be greatly missed by her great-grandchildren Trenton, Alexis, Tommy, Jacob, Andrew and Deacon.  Joan spent many enjoyable years babysitting and working at Walden Daycare.  Her passions included spending time with her great-grandchildren, road trips with her grandaughters, shopping and sweets.  Joan was a remarkable woman with a strong, kind and loving heart.  She was someone you could always call or visit anytime and was always there to listen and lend a helping hand.  Joan always put the needs of others before her own.  A true role model to all of us.   The family would like to thank all of the staff in the Scenic Care Area at Pioneer Manor for their excellent care, compassion and support.  In respecting Joans wishes, visitation or funeral service will not be held.

2 Condolences

  1. I am sorry to hear of the passing of Joan. It is startling to realize how close in age we were.

I always felt much younger. We lived near Windsor and Dad was a market gardener so did not visit
    Sudbury often.

    My sincere sympathy Louise
