It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Heinz Seitz on Thursday, May 11, 2017 with his loving girls by his side at the age of 87. Beloved husband of the late Erika Seitz. Loving dad to Karin (Jerry), Marion (Gerry), Petra (Don) and Darlene (Pierre). Cherished Opa to Chris (Helen), Tracy, Stephanie, Sarah (Nick), Brad (Ashleigh), Darryl (Robin), Amanda (Brent), Andrew (Chantal), Cara (Matt), Lindsey (predeceased), Zachary, Pamela (Josh) and 19 great grandchildren. Heinz was a “jack of all trades”, designing and building two of his homes, carpentry, building train sets, stain glass making, geodes with mining scenes, jewelry and a passion for gardening. His strength and love of family made him “Our Rock”. Family gatherings were always very special to him which he showed in the meals he prepared especially his delicious German potato salad. We will miss his knowledge and always having the answers to our questions and his honesty and love for life. His true character was shown by his devotion and caring for his wife who had MS. A heart felt thank you to Dr. Bakker, Dr. de Blacam, Dr. Manchuk and the 6th floor Respiratory Unit at H.S.N. In keeping with Heinz’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. The family will gather for a private committal service. In lieu of flowers, cards and donations, please remember him by planting something colourful, edible or strong and free as you gently whisper a prayer into the wind.
