Scarpellini, George

In Loving memory of George Scarpellini, 89 years who passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Health Sciences North.  Born in Italy to the late Fidardo and Ada Scarpellini (nee Longhini).  Beloved husband of the late Rosina Scarpellini (nee Giovannini).  Loving father of Lorenzo (Johanne) and Michael (Jodi) of Sudbury.  Cherished nonno of Cristina (Barry), Megan, Melissa (Bineet), Ryan, Bradford and great grandfather of Mila all of Sudbury.  Dear brother of Luigi (Giuseppina), Aurelio predeceased (Diana), Giuliano predeceased (Aurora) and brother-in-law of Romolo Giovannini (GianCarla) and Anna Silveri (Emidio-predeceased).  Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews all in Fano Pesaro, Italy.  George came to Canada in 1956 and settled in Sudbury working as a carpenter and cabinet maker.  He excelled at his profession and became a General Superintendent in charge of such projects as the Eldorado Nuclear plant in Blind River, the New Sudbury Supermall and Provincial Building in downtown Sudbury in 1978.  He was well respected in the community by his peers and colleagues.  The family wishes to send a special thank you to the doctors and staff of the 8th floor at HSN for their care and compassion during this difficult time.  As per George’s request there will be no visitation or Service. Memorial Donations can be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association.

  3. My most sincere condolences to George’s family. It was always a pleasure bumping into George on a jobsite these past many years. He always had time to stop and chat and you usually left with a smile on your face. I will remember him as an all around good guy.
