Sauvé, Ellen (née Kewais)

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the quick and sudden passing of Ellen Sauvé (née Kewais) on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Health Sciences North, Sudbury at the age of 63. She was the mother of Jonathan (Sarah), Randy (Joceline), Robert, and Debbie. Cherished “Mémère” of Joshua and Riley. Dear daughter of Levi Kewais and Dora Nootchtai (both predeceased). Loving sister of Wesley Nootchtai, Levi Kewais Jr. (Diane predeceased), Madeline McNichol (predeceased), Deborah Steeves (Gary), Lawrence Kewais (Bonnie), Jacqueline Kewais, Leo Kewais (Bea), Barbara Beaumont (Mick), Cheryl MaHannah, and Robin Mooney. Greatly missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and coworkers. Ellen was devoted to her family. She was the proud mom who could always be found cheering on the sidelines. She was an avid card player and always took an interest in her family’s hobbies. She couldn’t go anywhere without being recognized for the help she provided to so many behind the customer service desk at Walmart, wearing her signature blue vest covered in all her favourite pins. Ellen walked or took the city bus everywhere and always enjoyed her morning “Triple-Triple” coffee from “Timmies.” She cherished her weekly visits with her “Munchkin” and “Miss Riley Rose” and looked forward to cheering on the Steelers with her son Randy on NFL football Sundays. We will miss her loud, giggly laugh and her never-ending energy that somehow rivaled that of her grandkids, even in her 60s. Ellen will forever be in our hearts, and we will always love her “to the moon and back.” The family wants to thank the team at Health Sciences North for their compassion and care. A gathering to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations made directly to Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer (NOFCC) would be greatly appreciated by the family.
