Saunders, Velma Esther

Passed away peacefully with loving family and special friend Pat by her side on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Maison McCulloch Hospice. Born in Phelpston Simcoe County, ON to the late Joseph and Pearl (Waller) Johnston. She is survived by three loving children Angie Clark (Mark) from B.C., Todd Saunders from B.C., Wendy Grigoriadis from ON. and predeceased by son Joey. Beloved grandmother of Lori-Ann from B.C. and Costa from Kitchener. Survived by her loving sister Agnes Cah and brother Sam Johnston both from Barrie and her best friend Vi and Frank. Velma enjoyed saving small critters and big animals and loved them all; but she had a special place in her country girl heart for Big Red her pet pig. Big Red followed her everywhere, even beating her to the wild strawberry patches to feast before Velma would pick. Her final days were spent at the most beautiful and peaceful place Maison McCulloch Hospice. As per her wishes there will be no visitation. Donations to Maison McCulloch Hospice would be appreciated.
