Scott died by suicide on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at the age of 50. Son of Marcel Royer (predeceased) and Jane Gauvin (Denis). Brother to Chantal Cirella (Sandro), Jonathan Reiber and Leanna Reiber. He will be especially missed by his little terrier mix, Mischief, who he loved very much.

A very special thank you to Constable Foessl, Dr. Piccinin, Chantelle Desbois-Hickey, Richard Lalonde, Sharon Burton, and Lindsay.

Life is short; live every day to the fullest. Hug your loved ones; tell them you love them. Hold each other; not grudges. If you haven’t spoken to someone in a while; call or text them. Find your person, your “3 a.m.”; the one you can call anytime day or night and they will always answer. BE that person for somebody. Smile at a stranger. Be kind to one another. Remember; you don’t know a person’s story by the chapter you walk in on.

A private burial will take place at a later date. If desired, donations can be made directly to the Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention in Scott’s memory.

  1. To Scott’s loved ones… I am terribly sorry to hear of the passing of Scott. I met Scott back in high-school and we got to know each other over a short period of time. It’s heartbreaking to know that our friends and neighbours struggle, often in silence, feeling like the only way to cope with pain is through suicide. I am just reading of Scott’s passing now and my heart goes out to you all as you come to terms with this loss. I truly hope he can now rest comfortably and at ease in peace.

  2. Dear Chantal
I was so sorry to read about your brother’s passing, but was very impressed with the obituary, because you were open about the suicide, and offered hope for others who may need help. There have been so many of my school friends who took their own lives over the years……such a sad situation for all of the families involved.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
