Rivet, Clement

 

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Clement Rivet at his residence on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at the age of 79 years. Predeceased by his loving wife of forty seven years Raymonde Rivet (nee Martel). Cherished father of Gilberte, Linda, Marc (Susan), Louis, Laura (Claude), Dennis (Pamela), Denise, Carole, Debbie (David) and Raymond (Amber). He will be sincerely remembered by his 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Clement loved spending time with his big family; he loved and spoke very highly of his wife to the end of his own life, he had a tremendous passion for listening, watching and playing Bluegrass Country Gospel music with his family and friends, as a musician himself he enjoyed playing the mandolin. In his free time Clement, enjoyed working with wood, he was a blessed talented carpenter, best known for cabinetry projects. He was a strong man of his faith always trusted in his Lord and Savior in Jesus Christ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you remember Clement by donating to your neighbour in need, help the poor and needy, visit widows and people struggling in prison or go and do good in the world would be appreciated.

James 1:27 “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.”

Hebrews 13:16 “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”

First John 3:17 “But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him?”

Philippians 2:4 “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”

Proverbs 19:17 “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.”

 

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the Valleyview Community Church, 2891 Martin Road, Blezard Valley at 11:00 a.m. Friends are welcome anytime after 10:30 a.m., a luncheon and reception will follow in the common room, burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Civic Memorial Cemetery, 365 Second Avenue, Sudbury.
