Rivard, Pierre

Pierre Claude Joseph Rivard, age 38, sadly passed away in the late hours of January 31, 2019. Pierre, Son of André Donat Rivard and Dorice Marie Chantalle (Dubreuil) Gaudreau, was born in the small Northern town of Wawa on April 5th, 1980 where his love of nature and the outdoors was certainly planted. He is survived by his Parents and younger Sisters, Josée Rivard and Melissa Émond, as well as his Grandfather, Conrad Rivard. Pierre will be remembered by family and friends from across the country as exceptionally bright, fearlessly experimental and a forever curious person that was always looking to challenge your mind to think beyond its capabilities or limitations. He loved the outdoors, good food and cooking, and just about anything that would push his mind to a new experience or deeper understanding of the universe. He shared a deep spiritual connection with his partner, Evelyn Leblanc. Sharing almost every moment together in the past few years, their connection brought more joy, meaning, and an intrinsic sense of worth to life than either could imagine; One which will transcend time and tragic circumstance. It’s not what Pierre wanted, and was certainly too soon, but one little decision he made took his life and deeply impacted all those that love and care for him. We take comfort in knowing that Pierre is now surrounded by light, as well as family and friends that have already passed. He is now free from the struggles that come with life. Our only wish is that he could have experienced that freedom while still here with us. Our grief over losing him is infinite, but now, so is he. A Mass in his honour will be held at St. Alexander’s Church, 100 Gaudette Street, Chelmsford on Thursday, February 14th, 2019 at 12:05 p.m. Both a Funeral and Celebration of Life will be held in the spring, with further details to be sent out at the convenience of the family.
