It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the sudden passing of our precious Mother, Marlene Ritter of Azilda on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, with her daughters by her side at the age of 76 years.
Lovingly and forever remembered by her children: Lori-Lynn McTaggart and Marnie (Kevin); and only grandchild, Reese, who she cherished and referred to as “Nana’s Angel”. Mom was a supportive friend to many. She will be dearly missed by her beautiful friends at the Whitewater Residence and at the Restoration Church in Val Caron. Mom lived her faith each and every day.
Mom was happiest when she was spending time with her grandchild. She was always up for a fun, adventurous TikTok video and participating in school projects, especially, involving technology. Mom loved to learn. She was also fiercely independent. She took pleasure walking to the Azilda Market to pick up ingredients to make our favorite dishes often. There was nothing more delicious than mom’s spaghetti and apple crisp.
Mom was generous, kind, and friendly. Always taking the time to smile, wave and to really get to know everyone. She always ended every phone call with, “I love you” and we are grateful for the love you always gave us, no matter what.

At Mom’s request, there will be no public visitation or service. Donations made directly to Small Things Cats (cat rescue and adoption center Sudbury), or animal shelter of your choice would be appreciated.
Words, however kind, can’t mend your heartache, but those who care for you share your grief and wish you comfort and peace of mind. Your mom was a truly special person who will be missed dearly. She is irreplaceable. We will always have special memories of the wonderful person your mom was.
