Rintoul, Joan Elizabeth (nee Byers)

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family Monday, December 5, 2022 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury at 79 years of age.

Joan is predeceased by her husband Charles “Chuck” Rintoul. Predeceased by her parents Anderson and Berneda (nee Kraft) Byers, Daughter in law to Jean (Zurbrigg) and Albert Rintoul (both predeceased). Beloved mom to Darlene (Mike Hall) Lachapelle and Karen (Rolly) Goulard. Cherished grandma of Curtis (Stephanie), Chantal (Logan), Christine (Will) and Theresa (Kevin). Loving great grandmother to Yenic, Michael, Alexis, Roslynn, Tessa, Karine and Brendan. Dear sister of Don (Kathy, predeceased), Larry (Marie), Steve (Gertrude, predeceased), Vernon (Arlene, predeceased), sister-in-law to Don, predeceased (Terri) Rintoul and Jean, predeceased (Harold, predeceased) Toovey. Joan is also predeceased by her beloved fur baby Libby. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Joan worked as a dedicated RPN at the Wingham Hospital, concluding her career at Extendicare York. After retirement, she spent time at the trailer on Manitoulin Island in the company of her loving family. She also enjoyed knitting, crafts and watching the Blue Jays.

The family would like to thank the nurses at Health Sciences North Emergency Department and the staff on 6 South for the excellent care and compassion provided to Joan during her stay.

A Celebration of Joan’s life will be held in the Spring. In Joan’s memory donations may be made directly to the Sudbury Food Bank or a charity of your choice.
