Pratt, Patrick

In loving memory of Patrick Pratt (70), of Lively Ontario.  The family announces with great sorrow his passing on Friday October 25th, 2019 at Health Sciences North in Sudbury. This sudden and tragic loss will be felt greatly, not only in this community, but across the country through his many friends and relatives. Pat was known as a hard worker and a good man, who was always there for anyone who needed a hand. He was a jack-of-all-trades, who was good at everything and never afraid to work on something new. He worked as a miner for 30 years for INCO, retiring from Creighton Mine in 1997. He was also known for his great sense of humour and humble disposition. His main hobby had been working on cars in his backyard, where scores of people over the years have had their car “fixed by Pat”. He was also known in the community for his role as the Presiding Overseer of the Lively Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 30 years, and he loved to share his hope from the Bible with as many as possible. Pat enjoyed vacationing with his wife Ann, who he loved very much. He also enjoyed spending time at his camp on Fairbank Lake, where he always kept busy, and enjoyed sunsets and campfires.  Pat loved listening to music, and will be fondly remembered for always humming a tune while he worked. He was a lover of all of God’s creations, appreciating nature and animals, and enjoyed partridge hunting, pike fishing, and blueberry picking. He was a brother when in need, and a friend to all he met. Pat will be remembered as a devoted  husband, father, brother, and grandfather.  He loved his entire family, and strived to raise them all with Christian values, for which he set the example.  He is survived by his wife, Ann (Moxam) Pratt, son Dustin Pratt (spouse Sheri) of Naughton, and daughter Robin (Pratt) Sturgeon (spouse Tim) of Bracebridge. He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren: River, Summer, Jack, Waylon, and Lucy. Also his siblings: Diane Stringer (John) of Kelowna BC, Iris Stevens (Dennis) of Matheson,  Laurie Kidd (Stuart) of North Bay, Evelyn Trudell of North Bay, Lou Nickle of St. Catharines, Nina Pannell of Toronto, predeceased by Les Pratt, Karl Smerdon, and Donna Matteson. Also pre-deceased by his parents Ernest and Wanda Pratt of North Bay. He was also uncle to dozens of nieces and nephews, who also held a special place in his heart. A Memorial service will be held at 3pm on Saturday November 2, 2019 at Colonial Golf Course , 100 Lavallee Rd, Chelmsford.
