We regretfully announce the passing of our mother, Valarie Lillian Gail Poulton, who passed away on August 19, 2023 at the age of 89. Mom fought a long, difficult battle with dementia, and is finally at rest. She loved her family very much, and children and animals held a special place in her heart.
She is survived by her sisters Beverly Poulton (Ron), and Pat Bagshaw (Jim), and predeceased by eldest sister Connie Johnston (Ronnie). Mom had three sons - Robin, deceased (Linda), Shawn (Jo-Anne) and Cameron (Vicki). She will be fondly remembered by her three grandchildren Kristy Lee, Ian and Sami, and by step granddaughters Danielle and Camille.
She was an avid gardener, who was widely known for her botanical expertise. Val was a talented painter, who graced many with gifts of her paintings. She loved daisies, children, campfires, bluejays, dogs, cats, gardens, the woods, lakes, music… and the odd gin an tonic. (Beefeater gin only, please!)
Val will be forever loved, and forever remembered. Wherever she is, the garden is going to look great! Special thanks to the Lodge staff at Pioneer Manor. In lieu of flowers, donations made directly to the Alzheimer’s Society, SPCA, or Girl Guides of Canada would be welcomed.
