Peterson, Anna Maria

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Anna Maria Peterson in her 59th year, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 18th, 2020 at Health Sciences North. Daughter of Allen Peterson (Penny) of Blind River and Gloria Secco (pre-deceased). Beloved sister of Natalie (Dan Demore) of Capreol and George (Amber) of Blind River. Loving mother of Melissa Meilleur of Azilda and Brodie Hanna (Ashley) of Elliot Lake. Cherished grandmother of Donald, Justin, Luc, Logan, Blake, and Quinn. She will be sadly missed by her cousins, nieces, and nephews. Anna lived her life to the fullest and was always up for an adventure, whether that be going on trips with her siblings, fish and chips in Killarney, going to the island to take in the scene to just breathe, enjoying ice cream with her grandchildren, concerts, hitting up the bingo hall with Arlene and Debbie, or even just enjoying staycations in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her family. It was the simple things in life that made her happiest. Anna had a zest for life and even up to her last months wanted to go parasailing, despite not feeling the best. She was a dreamer, and always looked on the positive side of life. Family was everything to Anna. She loved her grandkids and would do anything for them, and created individual bonds with each one of them, memories that will last a lifetime. She had a love for Country music, and even up until her last days she was still singing and tapping those toes. Anna was diagnosed with cancer a year ago and didn’t let that get her down, she was always optimistic and wanted to do as much as she could before her time ran out. She fought a courageous battle and showed us what the word STRONG really meant. The family would like to thank the 5-south staff, nurses and PSW’s at HSN for their compassion, and support towards Anna in her final days, the care was phenomenal. Mom, you left prints on our hearts, and minds and now we leave ours with you. Always start each day with a grateful heart, this we learnt from you. Till we meet again.
