Ouellette, Gerald (Gerry)

It is with sadness that we have to announce the passing of our beloved Gerald (Gerry) Ouellette on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the age of 71 at Health Sciences North. Beloved husband of Linda (nee Deault) Ouellette. Loving father of Corporal Kevin, his wife Tracey-Lynn and their daughter Katherin of Comox, B.C. and Jason, his daughter Julia and his son Joshua of Sudbury, ON. He is predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Annette (nee Aubry) Ouellette. Dear brother of Rose Sottile (Phil) of Niagara Falls, ON, Donald (predeceased) (Anna) of Sudbury, ON, Al (Helen) of Blenheim, ON, Carmel Connolly (Ray – predeceased) of Courtice, ON and Claude (predeceased) of Sudbury, ON. Brother-in-law of Fern Grosso (Don) both predeceased of Largo Florida, Freda Marquis (Gerry – predeceased) of Sault Ste. Marie, ON, Marcel Deault (Jill) of Courtice, ON, Mona Piquette (Butch – predeceased) of Nanimo, B.C., Lily Baird (Bob) of Kingston, ON, Paul Deault (Christine) of Athens, ON, Hector Deault (Carol) of Kelowna, B.C. and Adele Morley (Bob) of Burlington, ON. Gerry will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a great-great nephew (on Linda’s side) that he loved so very much. Gerry was a Diamond Driller at INCO for 35 years before he retired. He was also on the executive of both the Holy Trinity Men’s Club and S.O.A.R. Gerry remained a member after becoming ill. When he retired he didn’t stay idle as he organized a breakfast program for the kids of the Donovan area through the Human League. He loved those kids and feeding them, he always had such good meals for them as many will remember. He also volunteered as a cook for his wife’s French Scout group from St. Jean de Brebeuf Parish and even for the district when they had camps. Gerry enjoyed working with kids and doing what he could to make things better for them. He will be missed by so many but after being ill for quite some time he is now at peace and is no longer suffering. Per Gerry’s request, we are honouring his wishes and there will be no funeral or visitation. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses that treated him during his illness, you were true angels. Especially nurse Marianne on the day shift last week. A special thank you to his 2 dearest friends, Mario Timpano and Rick Lindquist, for always being there for him. You guys were more like brothers to Gerry, always there when he needed you. With a sad heart we say goodbye to our wonderful husband, father and pepere, we miss you already.
