It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Elizabeth "Betty" Nerby (nee Swan), in Sudbury on Sunday, August 4th, 2019 at the age of 82 years. Betty is survived by her brother Donald Swan and sister Jean Leggo (nee Swan). Betty was the loving mother to her son Andrew Nerby, daughter Deborah Devlin (nee Nerby), and grandmother to Kyle Devlin. She was the loving wife of Dalton Ross Nerby (pre-deceased). Betty was a talented cook, singer, and organizer of special events. She was a passionate and devoted pet owner to both her dogs Max and Chase. After moving from Scotland, Betty lived in Montreal, where she met her husband and they traveled all across Canada. When she finally put down roots in Sudbury, she discovered a home that she loved! Recently while living at the Landmark Apartments, Betty found a community of friends and a home she cherished. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at a date and location to be determined.
