Murray Muncaster of Spanish, ON passed peacefully at Health Sciences North in Sudbury, ON surrounded by loved ones on the morning of Monday, January 30, 2017 at the age of 65, after a brief but fierce battle against cancer. Murray will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Kim (nee Carlyle), four loving children Tara, Carrie (Matt Brown), Tina (Brad Vezeau), Dean and three adoring grand-daughters Delia, Mattie and Miriam Brown. He was the only son of the late Leo and Delia (nee Gignac) Muncaster of Elliot Lake, ON. Beloved brother to five sisters, Karen (Alan Fraser), Sharon, Susan (Joe Connell), Bonnie and Tami (Todd Bigelow). Uncle to six nieces and two nephews. Murray was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 793 for 47 years and was a master crane operator who was well respected in his field. When Murray was not working, he spent most of his free time at the lake with his cherished cats, dogs and bird, where he would welcome friends and family to sit a while and share a story and a song. The family welcomes all to attend a Celebration of this wonderful man’s Life at the Royal Canadian Legion in Spanish, ON, Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m., with music and stories all evening long. A service and interment will take place in the spring at the Mount Cavalry Cemetery in Spanish, ON.
