MORATZ, Emgard Edith “Shorty”

In loving memory of Emgard “Shorty” Moratz (nee Melcher), who passed away on Wednesday, March 11th, 2020 at the age of 85. Beloved wife of Ellis “Blondie” Moratz (predeceased-2012). Loving mother of Randy Moratz (Cheryl) of Haliburton, Karen Jenkins of Aberdeen, Scotland, Shelley Lisi (Dan) of Sudbury and Dennis (predeceased). Cherished grandma of Tegan Legge (Andrew), Kyra Moratz  (Cooper Beres), Kathryn and Mackenzie Bowen, Tyler Lisi (Jess Serafini), Sierra Lisi (Nolan Fitchett) and great grandma of Nessie and Emmett Legge. Dear daughter of Ethel and Henry Melcher (both predeceased). Loving sister of Earl (Viola), Gerald (predeceased) (Arlette). Emgard had a love for the outdoors, hiking, skiing, biking and bird watching. Emgard and Ellis enjoyed camping at a variety of Provincial Parks with their grandchildren. Emgard was the official scorekeeper for many baseball games in Garson for her son’s games. She was a dedicated member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and served as, President, Vice-President and secretary of ELW for several years. Emgard’s children also knew they would come home to a good home cooked meal and fresh blueberry desserts. The family wishes to give a special thank you to the 3rd floor caregivers at Extendicare Falconbridge. Emgard enjoyed attending the Saturday Pub and listening to the live music. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at 1:00 pm followed by a gathering at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 189 Regent Street, Sudbury. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.

I never had the opportunity to meet her, but you sure look like her, and she sounded like she was an active lady both physically and in the community, so much like you.
