With heavy hearts the family announces the peaceful passing of Sir Knight Lucien Monette (Knights of Columbus, local 5005) on his 76th birthday, Wednesday, January 15th, 2020 with his family by his side. Beloved husband of 54 years to Ida (née Tétreault). Loving father of Jeanne (Rick Mongeau), Louise (Phil Landry), Michelle (Alain Viau), Danielle (Marc Waltenbury) and Julie. Cherished grandfather to Justin (Shannon), Dr Julie (Geoff), Joël-Philippe (Mélanie), Jennie Rose, Patrick (Kayla), Stéphanie (Randy), Tyler, Jordan, Kayla, Joshua, Brier and Cora. Great grandfather to Elijah, Keaton and Raymond. Son of Lorraine (née Pothier) and Gérard Monette both predeceased. Brother of Lucille (predeceased), John (Rita) and Georgette (André). He will also be missed by sisters and brothers in law, friends, nieces and nephews. His family is what he cherished the most in life. One could tell by his proud grin and the sparkle in his eyes when the family would gather for any occasion. His wonderful spirit and sense of humor will live forever in our hearts. The family wishes to thank the hospital staff that cared for him with compassion until the very end. Service will be held on February 8th, 2020 at 11 am at the St-Jacques Parish in Hanmer.
