Mondoux, Cecile Rachelle

June 17, 1929 - March 30, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother,

great grandmother and great-great grandmother, Cecile Mondoux née Maisonneuve, in the city of

Sudbury, at the age of 94. Born in Sturgeon Falls to parents, Damien Maisonneuve and Leopoldine

Fortier both predeceased, beloved wife of Ernest Mondoux (predeceased), mother to Claude (predeceased), Carmen Gagnon (Edward), Lise Leblanc (Henri-Paul), Gisele Larue (Clifford-predeceased). Grandmother to Janine, Paul, André, Martine, Jacqueline, Paul, Melissa, Adam. Great grandmother to

Ryan, Adam, Felix (predeceased) and Ellie and great-great grandmother to Wesley. Sister to Germaine, Gilberte, Lucia, Robert, Therese, Laurence, Noella, Henriette, Margot, Lucien, Madeleine, all predeceased. Survived by many nieces and nephews.  For the last 7 years she resided at Amberwood Inn & Suites where she enjoyed friendships, activities, especially bingo, and she was also an avid reader and loved her crosswords. She enjoyed family dinners and get-togethers.

As per Cecile’s wishes, there will be no funeral service; there will be a private celebration of life at a later date.

Mom, you will be greatly missed and we will cherish all the memories we created together.

  1. My dear cousins, I send my heart felt sympathies.
    Tante Cecile was a dear lady who loved life and family gatherings.
    She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. She was the last of her parents, siblings and of course her husband and son.
    Hope she has a happy reunion with all of them.
    Rest in Peace Cecile you deserve it.

The care and attention that you have all shown your mother over the past years was an inspiration to everyone.
