MILNER, Joyce Rita May (Campbell)

After many years of determination and fighting courageous battles Joyce, 91 years passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 22, 2018 at Health Sciences North. Predeceased by her parents Guy and Mary Campbell, her in-laws William and Ethel Milner, her loving and loyal husband Jack (John) of 56 years, daughter Kimberley, son in-law Guy, brothers Earl, Jimmy, Kenneth, Donald and sisters Pearl, Violet, Alma, Helen, Jean and Grace. Family members left to live out her legacy and to savour many cherished memories are her daughters Brenda Desjardins (the late Guy) of Welland, Barbara Horne (Ron) of Brampton and son David Milner of Sudbury. Beloved Nanny of Bethany Desjardins, Danielle Prankard (nee Desjardins), Nathan & (Marilyn) Desjardins, Ethan and Rachael Horne, and Kaitlyn Wiebe. Proud great-grandmother of Kyler Prankard and Cole Higgins. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Joyce had her share of health and family setbacks in her life but never once was her spirit broken. She made the best of every transition and lived her life with courage and strength. Joyce was a caring friend whose desire was to raise your spirits and make you laugh. Joyce’s life was spent in the service of others as a devoted mother and caregiver to many families. She faithfully served her Church family at Glad Tidings in many different capacities. In her early years she worked at Bell Canada for 13 years as an operator and manager. Family and friends will be received at Glad Tidings Church, 1101 Regent St., Sudbury on Saturday November 10, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. A Celebration of Joyce’s Life to follow in the auditorium. Memorial donations can be made directly to The Glad Tidings Church, Sudbury, The Canadian Bible Society, The Salvation Army Sudbury or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Special thanks to Dr. Shum, Dr. Thakrar and the staff of 7 North at HSN for your warmth and compassionate care in mom’s final days.

  1. Joyce was a delight to know and fellowship with through the years. She was very proud of her children and a great witness of God’s loving mercy living through life’s many challenges. She would say it like it was but with a sparkle in her eye and smile on her lips, put her arm around you as she shared in bibical principles. Sincere condolences to her family. We will miss her lovely hats.

  2. Please accept my sincere condolences Barbara, Brenda, David and families. Your mother was a wonderful lady who often brought a smile to my face. We had a great many laughs while visiting with the other ladies outside in the yard on Poland. She had a heart of gold and will truly be missed.
