Teresa Mentrycki was born June 6, 1963 in Sudbury, moved to Markstay where she lived until she passed away June 2, 2020. Teresa’s only child and most treasured legacy, Tyisa Averi MacDonald, endearingly nick named “Kookosha” will carry the many fond memories she had as a child. Teresa was the youngest of 8 children and is survived by 6 siblings Irene, Halina, Ken, Diane, Christine, Henry, and 9 nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She was also a Great Aunt to 15 nieces & nephews. No doubt, she will be remembered by all her Sudbury friends and Markstay neighbours she held close and in high regard. Teresa worked at Homewood Suites where her coworkers will miss her sense of humour and infectious laugh that brightened up their days. Teresa will be laid to rest along with our brother Steven (recently predeceased) and will join our parents Maria and Frank at the Civic Cemetery for a private family gathering. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sudbury SPCA would be appreciated.
I was very sad to hear about Teresa’s passing. My condolences go out to all of Teresa’s family, especially Tyisa. I have not seen Teresa in over 25 years but we had some wonderful times together and I very often thought of her. I will always remember her out of control laughter. ….. Rest in Peace Teresa. Teresa was and will always be a very caring and loving friend and co-worker. We shared many laughs together while we worked together. She always greeted everyone with a smile. I will miss her always but have fond memories of her especially at work. Work wasn’t the same without her. Rest in peace my fear friend. My condolence go out to her family at this difficult time.
