Meier, Cory

January 14, 1992 - April 7, 2020

It's with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Cory Meier on April 7, 2020 at the young age of 28 years old, after fighting a short but courageous battle with cancer.  The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at Health Sciences North for their care and compassion during Cory's treatment.  Cory was always looking for the next adventure, making friends wherever he went.  His laugh was infectious, and he always had a smile on his face.  He loved spending time with friends, whether it was going out for dinner, fishing, camping, hiking or just grabbing a coffee to catch up.  He always went out of his way to help someone in need, you didn't even need to ask.  Cory was an apprentice electrician and couldn't wait to be fully licensed.  He also had a passion for cars, he was often working on them when he had the time.  No matter what happened to his car, he could fix it up so that he could make it to work on time. He always made time for dinner with his family when he was in town.  He cared about so many people and he made sure that they knew.  Cory was very giving and supported various causes close to his heart. He will be missed deeply by his parents, Rudy and Gisele (nee Lariviere); his sister, Christine Meier (Jordan Trites); his Oma, Trudy Meier; his aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and union brothers and sisters at the Canadian Union of Skilled Workers. In keeping with Cory’s wishes, there will be no service or visitation, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his honor to the Northern Cancer Foundation (https://www.ncfsudbury.com/).

  2. Cory was a very caring person and someone we always loved to be around with. When ever we had a gathering he always made sure to be there with his case of Corona. During the summer if he was in town he would always stop by, even tho I would almost everytime put him to work helping me around the yard he did not mind one bit, and I ovecourse was grateful for it. His smile and his laugh always made our day, especially during board games. He was up for a road trip or any adventure with us. My condolences goes out to all his family and friends, he truly will me missed by many!
