It is with great sorrow the family announces the passing of Alejandro Martinez, Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the age of 77 years. The heavens called for Alejandro after a courageous battle of almost 11 years after suffering a dual stroke.
Alejandro spent 54 beautiful years with his wife Susana Martinez. Loving father to Maria Martinez (Perez Beaupre) and Bobby-Roy Oman (Jessica Aguirreg Goez). Alex will be terribly missed by many family and friends.
Alejandro cherished his time with family and friends, he enjoyed traveling all over South America, always bringing back souvenirs from various places especially from Peru. He was a great husband, father and friend. He was always full of laughter and life, bringing much joy to everyone around him.
We wish to send our greatest gratitude to Dr. Pablo Cano and his wife, Angela Mione, Mery Martinez, Cathy Beaupre and their families. We would also like to thank the many others who have been beside us always.
We would like to express our gratitude to the doctors, nurses, psws and staff at Finlandia Village, who provided oustanding care over the years. We would like to extend a very special thank you to everyone that participated in Alex’s honor walk as we exited Finlandia Village, it was emotional to see the support and love.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A Funeral Mass Will be Celebrated at the Church of Christ the King (21 Ste. Anne Rd., Sudbury, ON) Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 pm at the family residence.
Un saludo lleno de dolor a Susana, Maria y su boyfriend. Dolor por la partida de Alex…it was very sad to have him sick and probably suffering for so long… Finally our Lord called him to Heaven. Alex was my best friend since me and my family came to Canada in 1988 from Chile. He was such a smart and happy person and a loyal friend. He helped so many of us to settle in Canada which was very difficult. I’ll never forget such a beautiful person adios amigo te llevaremos en el corazon siempre …adios Alex

Susana, My condolences to you, Maria and Bobby-Roy. I remember fondly of the times we spent drinking tea and listening to Alejandro’s travels and adventures.

My dear Susana, we were all deeply saddened to hear of Alex’s passing this week. While our children have grown up and are now adults we have fond memories of the parties at your home celebrating Maria’s birthday over the years. Both you and Alex always made us feel so welcome. Thank you to both yourself and Alex for being a special influence in my children’s lives.
