It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Fernand Martineau on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Health Sciences North in his 97th year. Married for 70 years, he was the beloved husband of Annette (nee Vandette). Loving father of Gerald (Lennie), Carole Evelegh (Mike) and his primary caregiver Roger. Proud grandfather of Renee, Kevin and Owen. Cherished Great Grandfather of Ro and Madeleine. Brother of Rita from Montreal. Fern was born in Montreal and spent his childhood in Hearst, ON where he met his beloved Annette. They moved to Sudbury where they raised their family. Dad was a good provider for his family working as a Hoisting Engineer. He built the family home with the help of friends in the Northern Heights region of Sudbury. Dad contributed many years of volunteer time to Saint-Jean-De-Brébeuf church, where he was a devoted attendant. In keeping with Fern’s wishes, there will be no service or visitation.
Marts, was just informed of your father’s passing. Please accept my most sincere condolences to your mom, Carole and Roger concerning your loss. I have great memories of your dad. He was such a kind person and most likely a great father. Our prayers and thoughts are with all of you.

I dearly loved Mon Oncle Fern and will miss him very much.
I have lots of fond memories and I will always be ever grateful for allowing me to stay with you when I went to Laurentian.
