Malleau, Victor

In loving memory of a life well lived, Victor Malleau, 83 years passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury. He was born in Massey, ON and married Rena Prete in 1960. Victor worked at INCO for 35 years and raised his family in Levack, ON. He lost his beloved Rena in 1996 and worked to rebuild his life and be happy after her passing. Victor enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and wildlife. The family and friends spent many happy times on Manitoulin Island at their cottage where he was well known for his garden and flowers. An avid sportsman, he was known for his hockey skills, “best left winger I ever had”, his “fast legs and a great goal scorer” for the Levack Huskies Championship teams. He played baseball, curled, but his passion was golf. He spent many years with friends in Florida, PEI, and at home golfing. Victor was very social, loved to dance, be with people, and entertain. An accomplished cook who loved canning, jams/jellies, and share his skills with anyone who wanted to learn how to make his famous meatballs. His pride and joy were his grandchildren who he loved to tease and spoil. He always was ready to lend a helping hand and enjoyed volunteering for the Soup Kitchen and the Run for the Cure. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Mary Katherine (husband Dan Coady), grandchildren Olivia (fiancée Jabeen) and Ryan (partner Samantha). Sons David (partner Wayne), Peter (wife Lucy), grandchildren Trinity Rena and Nathaniel. Michael (partner Reggie), and special companion “Sunny dog.” Missed by his siblings Isabelle Fay (Luke - predeceased), Jerome Malleau (Marielle), Colleen Gordon (William – predeceased), Danny Malleau (Cheryl), Norma Valiquette (Ron - predeceased). Sister-in-law Patricia Prete, brothers-in-law Louis Paul Prete, and Peter Prete Jr (Beth-predeceased). Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Narcisse and Loretta Malleau and by his sisters Lorraine, Marie Therese, and Millie (Lucien – predeceased). He made many friends over the years and cherished their friendships. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Hope Parish, 591 Brennan Road, Sudbury on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Friends and family are welcome to gather at the Church after 10:00 a.m. Donations to ICAN (Independence Centre and Network) would be greatly appreciated.
