  1. So sorry to read of Ed’s passing. Our father, the late Sid Holmes spoke of fond memories as Ed was a piece of the LaSalle fabric. I knew Ed not only as a great Phs-Ed teacher but as a co-worker. LaSalle was blesses to have such a fun and dedicated teacher.
Ed gained the respect of students and teachers alike. He spent countless extra hours making sure we as students had the best teams we could produce. A great loss to the community, a tragic loss to his loving family. Ed “thanks for the memories “

  4. Dear Paula and family
I am deeply saddened with Ed’s passing. I met Ed only six or seven years ago when I became a member of his longstanding and “notorious” bocce group. In this short period of time, I quickly learned what a good man Ed was….always kind, good sense of humour and made me feel good as the bocce “rookie”. I will really miss him. Paula, know that I am thinking of you at this difficult time and that Ed has left us with many wonderful memories.

Dear Paula and family…..Germaine and I send our warmest feelings to you for your loss….Ed and I go back to our very young days where great memories come to mind…..Ed and his parents actually lived in our house on Whittaker St. when we moved just down the street….Ed and I would spent lots of time together doing those activities young boys do growing up…..his mother was one of those great cooks at the Caruso Club and Ed was instrumental in getting left overs for me…he would also borrow a little white wine from his Dad …only the ones that he would not notice….well maybe some of those memories should just stay there….Ed was one of those really nice guys and over the years as distance separated us we would see each other from time to time and always enjoyed those moments…..he fought a tough battle and now has rest….for Ed he is in HEAVEN and it a good place…for you it is a difficult time , but knowing he is not suffering anymore should give you some sense of relief….our prayers are with you and family….Doug Vitali

  9. Paula and Family
I’m away but learned of Eddy’s death. I have many fond memories of our time together at Lasalle and the many social events spent together both at school and in the community. Eddy was always fun to be with. I loved his personality and sense of humour. He was a real asset for the students and the teams he coached. He will be missed. I know you have many special memories to help ease the pain somewhat during this difficult time. It isn’t easy to lose a spouse and best friend. I send my thoughts and prayers.

  10. Dear Paula and family:
Shocked and saddened we are to read about Ed’s passing.
What a friendly and honest person he was. We had many years together in the cantina making our favourite meats and enjoying the fruits of our labours. Please advise us when the Celebration of his life will take place. In the meantime please accept our prayers and thoughts during these difficult days. God bless you all.
