Levesque, Sylvio Joseph

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Sylvio Levesque on Monday, July 18, 2022, at the age 89. Loving husband of Micheline Levesque, loving father to Debbie Therrien (Bruce Therrien predeceased), Linda Levesque (John Schupak), Robert Levesque (Cindy Levesque). Grandfather to Jesse, Steven, Chelsey, Ryan, Cody & Emily. Great Grandfather to Olivia, Felicity, Weston, Hudson & Isla. Dear brother of Marcel, Normand, Mariette, Normande, Rosanne, Guy. Pre-deceased by his parents Isabelle & Alexina Levesque, sisters; Lorette & Gilbette, brothers; Kenny, Ronald, Rene, Gerald & Gaston. He will be greatly missed by many of his family members and friends including his furry companion, Abby.

Being a Hoisting Engineer and his love for the outdoor is where he found his true passion for trapping and being in touch with the wilderness. He was a trapper for over 60 years and won many awards for his fur harvesting. He was a man who commanded a room with his loud voice, great stories and funny jokes. He had a passion for music and loved playing his guitar and singing. When he entered a room, everyone was sure to get some laughs. As funny as he was, his love for his family always came first. He was a great mentor to his kids and grandkids. He was proud to pass his knowledge and wisdom mainly to his son Robert (Bobby) who will continue his trap line and keep his passions alive.  As per his wishes there will be no visitations or service. A Celebration of Life will be held at Sylvio’s Camp on August 20, 2022, at 2:00 pm. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers donations in Sylvio’s memory can be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society https://cancer.ca/en or the Trapper’s Association https://furmanagers.com will be greatly appreciated.

  3. My deepest sympathies to ma taunt Mitch and family. He was a good guy, one of the best. He was always smiling and joking and even though I (Sheryl) could speak French he always went out of his way to talk to me in English, then I’d answer him in French. lol. My husband Ray, his nephew looked up to him like a dad. We all know we can’t live forever but he left such an imprint that he will always be with us, never to be forgotten so…
