September 3, 1915 – May 5, 2021
In Loving Memory of our family’s much loved Centenarian Vera Leclair (Hughes), 105 years who passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa with family by her side on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. Vera’s husband of 57 years, Fred predeceased her in 1995. Together they raised 5 children: Bev Brassard (Bill Bedford), Gary (Joan), Judy Spotswood (Bob), Sandra Gervais (predeceased 2016), and Dorothy Lock (Bob). Cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. A devout Roman Catholic whose strong moral and religious values were a prominent part of her life. A long-time parishioner of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Coniston, Vera was a dedicated and proud member of The C.W.L. for over 60 years. When the opportunity presented itself, she was a willing participant for the Rickshaw Bike rides around the property at St. Joseph’s Villa. Vera was blessed with many gifts in her lifetime but the greatest gift of all was the “gift of time” she was able to spend with her family, especially her children and her many grandchildren at the family cottage on Deer Lake.We would especially like to thank the Staff at St. Joseph Villa for their love, compassion and care provided to Vera. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at a later date when it is safe to do so. In lieu of flowers, donations in Vera’s memory can be made directly to St. Joseph Villa or the Maison McCulloch Hospice.
Condolences to all the family.
