The family announces with great sadness the peaceful passing of Richard Lazure, 72 years at Health Sciences North on Sunday, March 3, 2019. Beloved husband and soul mate of Lucy (nee Dyko) who will miss him greatly. Loving father of Carri-Lynne Eldergill (Ian) of North Vancouver, Curtis Lazure (Stephanie) of Sudbury and Lindsey-Kay Lazure of Little Current. Cherished grandfather of his grandchildren who he loved more than anything and loved to tease, Annika and Hayden Eldergill of North Vancouver, Samantha and Theo Lazure of Sudbury and Sydney of Sudbury. Predeceased by his parents Gregory and Verna. Survived by his brother Peter Lazure (Brenda) and Linda Cameron both of Brantford. Fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Liz Pearson (John-predeceased), many cousins in Sault Ste Marie as well as nieces and nephews in Sudbury and Brantford. The family would like to thank the nursing staff on the 9th floor Nephrology for the wonderful care of Richard over the years and the nurses and doctors on the 5th floor for the past month. As per Richard’s request, there will be no visitation or service. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Donations in his memory can be made directly to the Regional Nephrology Program at Health Sciences North.

So sorry and surpised to hear the sad news about Richard. He was a great friend when we both attended teachers college in North Bay over 50 years ago. I’m sure he had a great career teaching. Did you teach many years also? Send me an email if you have a moment. We can have a little chat.

My deepest condolences to Lucy, Carri-Lynn, Curtis, and Lindsey on your loss. I have many hockey memories of Richard as our goalie coach. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
