Larabie, Aline (née Gaudette)

It is with profound sadness that the family announces her sudden passing on Monday, June 12th, 2023 at the age of 76 years old. She passed peacefully at Health Sciences North, surrounded by family.

She was a beautiful baby girl who was born on May 31st, 1947 to Edmond Gaudette and Églantine Gaudette (Jeanveau), (both predeceased) in Sudbury On. She adored her parents and continued to share some fond and special memories of them both.

Beloved wife of Leonard Larabie whom she loved and cared for deeply. Married on June 25th, 1965. She was a devoted wife, always making sure that he ate and she prepared and served him his meals daily or when she was able to. She carefully picked out clothes for him and placed them on the bed.

She admired her parents-in-law, Dieu-Donnée and Adeline Larabie (Poulin), (both predeceased) and she often shared some fond memories of them both.

Loving mother of Louise Larabie Gaudreau (Scott), Adrien Larabie (Nicole) and Angele Sutherland (Robert). She dedicated her life to being an extraordinary mother. She excelled at supporting them throughout the many passions and difficulties of their lives.

Amazing and fantastic grandmother to Sylvie (Mark), Melissa (Xander), France (Tim), Murielle, Clint (Carolyn), Samantha (Mike), Éric, Vincent, Patrick (Amber) and Step Grandmother to Corey (predeceased), Rebecca (Timo), Steven (Tianna), Justin (Angélique) and Keandra (Massimo). She had an extreme passion for all of her grandchildren and as they were growing up, she loved filming them and taking photos of them while they were hard at play with her invented and creative games.

Delighted Great Grandmother to Mateo, Nyla, Bradley, Tyson, Sophia, Nicholas, Noah, Liam, Grayson, Daisy and Step Grand Mother to Alexis, Olivia, Melody, Carley, Caydan, Aiden and Akasha. Although she wasn’t able to meet them all or to see them often, she was always pleased to see photos, videos or to hear stories about them.

She was a Jack of all trades. Her creativities and her brilliance allowed her to be good at everything that she endeavoured: the architecture of the beautiful home that they built together, finishing her basement with super creative details (where she hosted many fun parties), raising animals and hatching all kinds of eggs, planting flower and vegetable gardens, hairdressing, arts & crafts, sewing, knitting, crocheting, taking photos and filming videos and organizing it all.

She loved her children and everyone’s child and enjoyed teaching crafts and teaching all that she knew. She loved God and prayed with all of her heart & soul. She held her entire family & friends close to her heart. Whether they were near or far, she included them all in her prayers. She was a Mother to all, and loved everybody, and told everyone that she loved them.

After many years of enduring pain and suffering from some health issues, God has gained another beautiful Angel and she may now rest in peace. There are no goodbyes, as her Spirit continues to live in and around us until we meet again. She will be sadly missed by her surviving siblings, siblings-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Leonard and his family are looking forward to seeing family & friends at Aline’s Celebration of Life. As per Aline’s wishes, she would love us to party on her behalf. Please come and share all your most memorable memories of Aline, we’d love to hear them, you may also post them here if you wish. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 20th, 2023 from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Wahnapitae Community Center; 161 Glenbower Crescent.
